Biography - John D. Leech
An expert in governance issues, John has moderated over 150 board workshops providing governance consultation, analysis, design, strategic direction planning and assisting with decision-making. He is an attorney, having been a partner with a 200-person law firm representing hospitals and healthcare systems. He chaired the Sentinel Event Task Force involved with reducing medical errors in accredited institutions for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and was the recipient of the Trustees Award from the American Hospital Association and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Cleveland Hospital Association/Center for Health Affairs. He is a past member of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Board and of the Board of Commissioners, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, was the Secretary of the Board of The Cleveland Clinic Children's Rehabilitation Hospital and served on the Board of Joint Commission Resources, Inc. John earned a Bachelor Degree from Williams College and holds a L.L.B. from Duke University School of Law.
